Boys' & Girls' Towns of Italy is now called
A Chance In Life
Same mission. Same organization.
Now with an exciting new name that reflects our international expansion.
Now with an exciting new name that reflects our international expansion.
Our founder Msgr. John Patrick Carroll-Abbing said, “All children deserve to be given a chance in life.”
We have been providing at-risk youth with a chance in life for the past 71 years through our Towns in Rome. As our organization expands beyond the borders of Italy, we are assuming the new name of "A Chance In Life” to reflect the international scope of our work.
Why change?
Our mission and our approach of supporting youth through self-government has not changed. We are expanding our work to affect the lives of more young people throughout the world. Our new name, A Chance In Life, expresses our mission and our global expansion.
What about Boys’ and Girls’ Towns?
A Chance In Life’s programs are still called “Boys’ and Girls’ Towns of Italy” and “Boys’ and Girls’ Towns of Ethiopia.” As we develop more Towns, they will assume similar names based on their home country.
What’s new?
We have a new logo - a new face to the world - that better depicts our young and dynamic organization. The “C” of Chance is the sun, representing the inspiring hope of our young people. Our new website and social media pages are simple, informative, and visually appealing.
We believe that the name change of our organization provides a solid foundation for our future work with at-risk youth internationally. With the support of our Board and loyal donors, we are proud to now be doing business as A Chance In Life!
