URGENT - Help us provide 3,000 meals a month for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis.
A Chance In Life works with the most vulnerable communities in Italy, Ethiopia, India and Latin America. Even in the most stable of times, the youth we serve are unable to receive adequate care or an education without the support of our Towns.
Now, as COVID-19 spreads rapidly across international borders, we are facing extreme challenges as school are forced to close and many of our children are sent home to struggling relatives poorly equipped to care for them. Vulnerable children and those living in poverty will be hit hard by this outbreak, and we are communicating daily with our staff on the ground in these countries to identify the most crucial needs the children at our Towns and those with their families are facing.
Please make an immediate gift to support our youth and their caregivers. Donate $50 or more to help us provide nutritious meals for a child for a month in Ethiopia, India, Italy or Latin America.
*100% of donations will be used for needs related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Out of more than 9,000 rated organizations, A Chance In Life has been named by Charity Navigator as one of the top six recommended charities providing community support and services in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
Thank you for ensuring that even in times of uncertainty, the world’s most vulnerable children are not forgotten. Please consider making your gift recurring to last throughout this pandemic.
Our program staff around the world have helped us identify the most urgent needs of our youth following the COVID-19 outbreak.
- In Ethiopia and in some parts of India, all schools have been shut down. Most of the children we serve receive their only meal of the day in school. We need to send emergency relief to ensure that our children can receive at least one nutritious meal a day.
- In all of our Latin American programs, schools are closed and children from broken families risk ending up without adequate food and care. We are working to strengthen programs in our “towns” to establish meal distribution sites.
- In Italy, our children at La Repubblica and La Città dei Ragazzi have been locked down on their campuses, following the directive of the Italian government. They cannot attend school and have limited educators available. We need to ensure that food, medication, online classes and basic needs are provided through this challenging time.
- In Guatemala, our program that supports boys and girls with HIV/AIDS is at risk of running out of the medication these children need for specialized daily treatment. Local markets are also running low on supplies, forcing the program staff to travel farther to secure enough food for the home. We need to provide this program with the medication and food they need to care for these children.
Please make a gift above to help us meet these needs.
