As COVID-19 rages across international borders, A Chance In Life launched an immediate response to continue caring for the 3,000 youth we serve in Italy, Ethiopia, India and Latin America. As schools closed around the world, many children were sent home to struggling relatives poorly equipped to care for them. Since mid-March, A Chance In Life has worked to supply these children and their families with enough food supplies to get them through the end of this crisis.
This week, our relief efforts have been bolstered by a major partnership with Caritas Pro Vitae Gradu Charitable Trust, led by Trustee Ariane Slinger. The Trust has generously pledged their support for our COVID-19 response and provided much-needed resources to carry out this life-saving work. Trustee Ariane Slinger has said that the trust is "honored and blessed" to support A Chance In Life.

The United Nations stated in a recent report that the economic hardship experienced by families as a result of COVID-19 lockdowns could result in hundreds of thousands of additional child deaths in 2020, a harrowing estimation that we are determined to combat. The collaboration with the Caritas Pro Vitae Gradu Charitable Trust will allow us to better respond to the growing needs of their youth, strengthening and expanding food distribution programs in India and Latin America as the economic fallout continues to impact already-impoverished families there.

We are so grateful to Ms. Slinger and the Caritas Pro Vitae Gradu Charitable Trust for their support and partnership, and look forwarding to working together to care for and protect children around the world.
