We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization based in New York. We provide funding through partnerships with local organizations working with children and youth around the world. Our grants are offered to empower children and youth through the provision of quality formal education, gender equity and capacity building, offering “a chance in life” and promoting their full potential.
We are committed to selecting partners who align with our values and our mission, and those organizations who are impacting the lives of at-risk children and youth. We use the following eligibility criteria and selection guidelines to help us keep this commitment.

For our Partners
Our funding cycle has two phases:
Phase 1: Grant Abstract Papers (GAPs): are open from May 1 through June 30, every year. Successful applicants will be invited to the next phase. Phase 2: Full Proposal Forms (FPFs): are open from September 15 through November 30, every year. Decisions on Full Proposals will be notified in early December. |
We only accept applications from our already-established partners (If you have not previously received grants from A Chance In Life, please refer to the guidelines above). Our grant management process is a competitive one. Being a partner does not mean that grant proposals are automatically approved. All proposals are evaluated on the basis of content quality, alignment to our mission and the issues being addressed by the partner.
